With a new year upon us, I took some time to reflect on all of the changes that took place over the last year at Ebata Eye Care.  At times it feels like running a small business is like driving a car without power steering.  There is always a pothole to avoid and the key is to avoid it before NOT after you feel the bump.

This year the Ebata Eye Care team grew with addition of our new optometrist, Dr. Victoria Baba.  She has been a wonderful addition to the clinic and she has integrated herself so well with our staff and patients that it feels like she has been with us for much longer.

In November my staff member, Lauren, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Penelope.  With Lauren on maternity leave we hired our newest team member, Lindsey to fill the void.  Both Lauren and Lindsey work in the optical lab fitting and making the beautiful glasses for our patients.

Finally, an ongoing project for me has been getting the clinic to go “paperless”.  For the last three years my staff and I have spent countless hours archiving all the paper examinations from each patient and creating an electronic version.  Hopefully, in 2018 there won’t be any files along the back wall when you come for your next visit.

I look forward to seeing you in 2018 and wish you all the best.
